25 Embarrassing Stores of Computer Illiteracy From Our Parents' Generation
Older people aren't very good at using computers. It's a simple fact, and one that we shouldn't hold against them for the most part. They didn't grow up in a world with technology, and haven't been expected to use it until recently. Young people are equally bad at driving stick shift, or cold calling someone on the phone. But the way in which some people struggle to use technology can be infuriating, and a microcosm of the stubborn entitlement so many people have. Especially when they make more money than you do.
For example, one person shared their mother's attempt to move over one hundred photos around on her computer. Instead of just selecting them all and dragging them to the new different folder, she downloaded each individual photo as a separate file on her desktop, before converting it back and saving it to the new folder. When shown how much more efficient select all could be, she confidently proclaimed that her way was just as fast. No, Mom, it's not. Just let me help you.
